Vulturine Guineafowl feather - about 7-9 cm - white dots
Originally from eastern Africa where it lives in semidesert area full of thorny bushes, the vulturine guineafowl is yet the biggest of the guineafowls. It has a blue-colored plumage on the neck and the chest, that is quite strange for a bird that essentially lives on the ground. Its name comes from its naked head, like vultures. Here is a feather from the back, different from common guineafowl by the dots that meet and the end and the warm chocolate color.
