Vulturine Guineafowl feather - 7-9 cm - blue-grey
Originally from eastern Africa where it lives in semidesert area full of thorny bushes, the vulturine guineafowl is yet the biggest of the guineafowls. It has a blue-colored plumage on the neck and the chest, that is quite strange for a bird that essentially lives on the ground. Its name comes from its naked head, like vultures. Here is a feather from the chest, rare by the intensity of the blue color. It's a feather to wear alone on a hat, or with others feathers of the same bird.
